Beano is a 6-7 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He is an active and fun-loving dog who loves to play ball games.
Beano’s always happy when playing with a football or his favourite rubber ball! He also loves to be out and about, taking in the sights and smells and feeling the sun on his back.
Beano generally gets along ok with other dogs but he can be unsure of some, so he needs an owner who will be able to read his body language and facilitate slow and careful introductions to ensure he feels safe.
Beano’s also super affectionate and craves human companionship. He can find it hard being left on his own, therefore he’s looking for someone who is at home during the day and has the time, patience and understanding to help him settle in.
Beano can get a little anxious in new situations, he will need a patient and understanding owner to reassure him and help him to settle in.
Beano’ll need a home where there is someone around during the day and his home with the need to have direct access to a private garden.
Beano can live with sensible teenagers who have lived with dogs before and won’t be intimidated by his excitable behaviour at times.
Beano can also live with dog-confident cats. Beano has had dental treatment while at Mayhew. He arrived in our care with broken canine teeth, three of which were extracted – he has an unusual habit of chewing on rocks which he needs to be distracted from.
Beano has an old spinal injury resulting in signs of hind limb weakness and incoordination, he is currently on Yumove Joint Care and is active and unimpaired by his previous injury.
Beano has been observed to urinate a lot and occasionally will start walking whilst still urinating. No underlying medical cause has been identified regarding this and it is believed to be related to his drinking habits.
Beano has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatments. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.
