Marino is a 6-7 year old male Griffon Cross. He has been locked up behind bars in a pound of Northern Spain. Before the pound, he was living with an older person, who died.
As so often happens, it was easier for the other family members to wash their hands of him and leave the dog in an overwhelmed pound than to take responsibility for him.
We don’t know if Marino is a dog who is used to living in a home environment or if he was kept outside, but what we know for sure is that he is used to being around people.
It’s heartbreaking to know that after living and being around people he is now in a cage with many other dogs and that the only human contact he receives is when he is fed, or the worker of the pound cleans the cold concrete floor with a strong jet washer.
Marino is a social dog who is not only good with people but also with dogs. He is sharing his cage with many other dogs and gets along very well with them.
When we visited him to get to know him we also had a little walk around the kennel and he was fine with us putting him on the harness and walking him on the leash. Marino was calm and well-behaved. He enjoyed getting attention and cuddles.
We don’t have any knowledge of whether he has ever lived with cats or if he is used to being around children, so his future home should be aware of this. Marino is a gentle and lovely boy.
With the right hair care his beautiful personality will also reflect on the outside. The pound is a difficult place for any dog, but for dogs who probably already have been living in a nicer place, it must be more shocking and difficult to adapt.
Marino’s biggest wish is to find a home where he will be appreciated and who won’t let him down. We will do our best to make this come true. If you have fallen in love with a wonderful boy do not hesitate to contact us.
As soon as the right home comes forward, he will be able to travel from Spain to his home in Wales or England. Please be aware that Marino can’t travel to Scotland.
