Louie is a 6 month old male Hound Cross. He was found as a stray and brought into one of the municipal dog pounds.
Concerned about him missing socialisation opportunities at such a young age we decided to move him to one of our partner shelters where he was able to have more 1-2-1 time interacting with people and other dogs.
Although his striking good looks have earned him a little bit of interest, he’s yet to find his perfect forever home. Louie is only a baby, around six months old maximum.
Louie’s a gorgeous, unusual-looking hound mix, and has a very friendly, playful and active nature.
Louie loves to run around outside with the other dogs and gets excited to go out for walks on the lead too. He’s getting better and better on the lead each time and is a smart boy who is keen to, please.
Louie would be best suited to a family living in a more semi-rural location, with access to a secure, direct garden.
Louie would relish the opportunity to have his own space to run about freely in. Louie shares his kennel with three other dogs, all of which are smaller than him, and he’s gentle but still playful with them. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would enjoy having a resident dog to live alongside.
Equally, he’s confident enough to cope on his own and as long as he has a home where he’s not spending frequent periods alone, he’ll be happy. Louie has not been cat tested, nor has he had much exposure to young children.
Based on his temperament and age we think he would be suitable to be homed with children aged 7+, but they should be mindful that he can get over-excited and bouncy at times. He means no harm, but sometimes puppies forget their size!
Louie has also got a lot of potential for training and would be missing out if his family didn’t make the time and effort to work on teaching him new things and continuing his socialisation.
Louie’s done so well in the shelter despite the limited time and resources of the team, so in a home where he’s got much more focus we think he will blossom and grow into a wonderful adult dog.
Louie is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
