Rosa is a 7 year old female Labrador Cross. She is approximately 15kg & is 50cm tall. Rosa is looking for a new home where there are older children or adults as she is fearful of a baby in the home.
Her owner has not taken the decision lightly at all & is devastated to do this. She is extremely loving, wants to lie close and has loves/hugs as often as she can.
Rosa isn’t needy but she just loves company. She is still a pain around food. She barks for human food and will eat and eat if you let her (probably the Labrador in her).
That’s where her bad part ends though. She loves her walks and has been on all kinds. Woods, fields, roads, beaches but I’d say she prefers it away from traffic.
Rosa didn’t travel well when we got her but have travelled with her more and more and she’s better but it still makes her nervous. To the point, she’ll bolt when near a car so we have to be careful and reassure her.
Rosa’s been on a few UK holidays with us and enjoyed it and behaved very well. We’ve never had any accidents in the house, ever.
Rosa barks near the door when wanting to go out. She’s good on the lead, we don’t let her off unless in a safe enclosed space. She can still be a little timid when in new places but when with us she’s fine but with someone new, she would have to maybe adjust.
Rosa isn’t keen on the vets but luckily doesn’t have to go often but again, can be reassured and comforted easily. Cost-wise, mostly low maintenance. We brush her regularly and bathe her once every 6-8 weeks.
Rosa has a trim once a year and is due for her next one in June. I will still get her done if she is with me.
So if she’s groomed regularly or at least weekly, she shouldn’t moult much. She currently lives as an only dog but does well with other dogs.
We do not know how she will be with cats. She will chase cats from the garden. We are looking for a secure garden with fencing or walls to a minimum of 5ft.
We also need the dogs to be kept on a lead, long lunge lead or for people to use enclosed fields for off-lead exercise as these dogs are scent hounds & have hunting backgrounds. We do not rehome with children under 8 years old. She is a full rescue backup provided.
