Roy is a 1 year old male Pointer. He is in foster in Chertsey, Surrey and doing so well!. His foster mum says “Roy is a lovely boy with the face of a puppy and a temperament to match.
Roy always aims to please and at the moment comes back for reassurance frequently when on walks (note this may change as he gains confidence and his prey drive kicks in).
Roy is a very bright little boy, already sits and waits for his food, to have his lead put on, to have it taken off again.
Roy walks well on the lead so far (again this may change as he gains confidence). “Roy seems to be able to inhale his food, he eats so fast.
Roy is a small pointer (58cm to shoulder) and he is very light on his feet, ninja-like making no noise whatsoever when jumping on and off the bed.
Roy gets on very well with other dogs in the house, but is wary of people he doesn’t know. “Roy likes to play with tennis balls and foam toys and so far has not felt the need to chew them. Roy loves cuddles with people he knows and with other dogs.
Roy gains a lot of confidence and reassurance from the other dogs, he will need a friendly and patient dog companion to help him along and cope with his playful puppy moments.
Roy is ok left for short periods with the other dogs but would not cope alone. “Roy has behaved well around the confident cat and has so far shown little interest in her.”
Prior to being fostered in the UK, Roy was handed in by his hunter to the Spanish shelter we work with as he was not wanted. Roy is sociable and playful with the other dogs. We think a friendly dog in his adoptive home would really help this young boy.
Roy will need a patient and understanding adopter to help him blossom. Roy was born 14th September 2021. If you are interested in giving handsome chappie, Roy a home, he is available at Setter Brittany Pointer Rescue.
Roy is currently in Chertsey, Surrey but his bag is packed and he is ready to travel to his special home somewhere in the UK. Will that be with you??
