Nieve is a 3 year old female Cross-Breed. She was saved from terrible conditions in a public shelter in Romania, but is now safe in our kennels in Lincolnshire. She is a sweet girl who has really come out of her shell since she was rescued. She has a lovely temperament, gentle with people and dogs.
She desperately just wants to be your friend! At a recent rescue meet up where there were a lot of new people and dogs, she was so at ease, happy to mingle with everybody and just enjoying being part of the day! Nieve is a very quick learner and would thrive with some dedicated training.
She already walks very well on a lead. She has shown some food guarding issues, behaviours which are very common with dogs who have had to protect their food from others to survive. An owner who has some experience with this behaviour or would willing to work on altering this would be ideal. She would counter surf and steal food from bins if left to her own devices!
Nieve can give little nips when she gets excited and wants to play, it is not aggression but just pure excitement. For these reasons though we think she would be best in an adult only home or with older dog savvy children. She has not been tested with cats. Nieve really is a gentle soul who so deserves to find her forever home.
