This month, our emotions and minds are heating up with spring fever, and our hearts are becoming more open. Cosmic energies will be erratic, but they will elevate us to see our higher purpose in life.
These are the major astrological aspects and dates in May:
Talkative Mercury enters Gemini on May 3rd, making communication direct and concise.
Romantic Venus enters Gemini on May 8th, making words seem and feel poetic.
The new moon in Taurus occurs on May 11th, opening our hearts to unforeseen possibilities.
Philosophical Jupiter enters Pisces on May 13th, offering us an artistic, intuitive, and mystical perspective on life.
The Sun enters Gemini on May 20th, bringing intellect and communication to the forefront of our minds and spirits.
Authoritative and karmic taskmaster Saturn turns retrograde in Aquarius on May 23rd (lasting until October 11th). Old structures will be revised and renewed during this time.
The total solar eclipse and supermoon (this is a very intense full moon) in Sagittarius on May 26th will awaken our emotions.
Mercury retrograde in Gemini begins on May 29th (lasting until June 22nd). Communication, travel, and technology will have its issues, urging us all to reboot and reassess matters.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Take as many catnaps as you want and need this month. Don’t feel bad for being lazy and needing time off from being upbeat all the time. To be honest, your energy is always strong and you deserve a rest. Let yourself have some R & R and enjoy a fanciful daydream on May 13th. You’ll find that this adds pep to your step on May 26th and 29th, when you’re totally full of life and gusto.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
It’s been a while since you’ve put yourself out there for others to see (and unfortunately, judge). Think of May 11th as coming out of hibernation day for yourself: feel free to strut your stuff on the catwalk and vocalize with passion. You’ll receive a whole lotta love on May 13th from your squad who have missed your positivity, and will be welcomed back into the pack or clowder with gentle head butts.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
You have a case of the blahs this month, which is why you’ll find solace with the past. Pull out the old chew toys and squeaky critters that you used to play with on May 29th. You’ll have a super fun time reconnecting with them. Your pet parents will love watching you enjoy yourself. After all, you’re their favorite child and their hearts swoon when you’re happy (don’t tell anyone else that they feel this way).
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
It’s not that your friends are boring per se, but you’re looking for new adventures and creative conversations that feed your soul. Rather than only hang with your old crew, you will want to expand your friendship circle on May 11th. The only negative aspect about doing this is that your crew will feel as though you’ve abandoned them. Blend both pals together on May 26th to avoid the drama and to keep the peace.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
A new dawn has begun for your public image, Leo. You’re one cool cat and dog this month. This means that you’re the one lighting up the dog park. Your pack is looking up to you on May 11th and 20th. They’ll even mimic your vibe on May 13th and 26th to emulate your awesome and fierce style (which they totally respect and adore). Let them enjoy the greatness of your company. You’re très chic!
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Your network is expanding on May 13th, making you want to spend all day and night barking up a storm with newfound colleagues and confidents. This feeling will be short lived, however, as May 26th will find you more introverted than ever. Don’t despair, Virgo! Use your down time to reflect and recharge; you’ll feel more social again in June.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Life has been a roller coaster as of late, and things aren’t settling down anytime soon. May brings many changes that will open your heart and soul to new possibilities. On May 8th, you’ll be feeling inspired to blaze new trails in life (literally) so urge your pet parent to take a different route during your daily walks. Your exploratory streak continues on the 13th, where thrilling and exciting outdoor adventures await.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Something is amiss in your personal life, you just can’t put your paw on it. Give some serious thought on May 3rd, 8th, and 20th, and keep in mind the gut feelings that you have about your pet family may be off on May 11th and 26th (it’s Mercury retrograde, after all). Nothing is wrong, but you’ll still be sail through the month’s communication misfires more easily with these dates in mind.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Always one to throw caution to the wind, you’re embracing your free spirit cat-titude in the beginning of the month on May 3rd, 8th, and 11th. Mid-month will find you feeling a little needy, as you’re wanting more TLC and affection from your pet patents on May 13th. You’ll be back to living life on your own independent schedule on May 26th, which will set you up nicely for a domestic situation that arises on May 29th.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Your pet parent is stepping out more after a long year of quarantining. Now, they are ready to play catch and run through the park with you this spring. The problem is that you’re not feeling as social or adventurous, especially on May 11th and 26th, which will put a pin in their plans. You’ll be feeling more in sync with the ‘rents on May 8th and May 20th—try to get them out to enjoy the sunshine then.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
It always feels good to shake your tail at the dog run and flaunt your awesomeness. This month, you’re getting a lot of notice from those you normally play catch with, as they’re wanting to connect on a deeper level. You’ll be lost on cloud nine on May 8th and 20th due to the heavy flirting and barking you’re receiving, but not in the mood to commit to any member of your neighborhood pack yet.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
May is your month to shine and feel alive, Pisces. When Jupiter aligns with your sun on May 13th, you’ll feel exuberant and ready to take on the world—also, a tad manic and loud. Be careful not to create too much noise at home during Mercury’s backwards march which begins on May 29th and ends June 22nd. If you don’t listen, then you could wind up in the doghouse (which is never fun).
